When we discuss Ellen White and Plagiarism, we are not discussing whether or not she broke laws. Neither are we judging her motives. We are discussing the source of the thoughts and ideas which she wrote in her books, articles, and letters. Seventh-day Adventists have claimed that Ellen White's writings originated from the inspiration she received from visions, dreams, and communications with angels. However, the mounting evidence shows otherwise. From her earliest days with William Foy, to her very last book, Prophets and Kings, Mrs. White appropriated the thoughts, ideas, content, and even the very words of others and incorporated those into her writings. Even some of her "I was shown" statements were copied from other authors! This evidence reveals the real source of inspiration behind Ellen White's writings. Most of her writings derive from the minds of non-Adventists--the same people she derided as "Bayblon" and unholy ministers under the influence of Satan.
