In the late 1800s, the Norwich, Connecticut, SDA Church rebelled against Ellen White. Not much is known of the rebellion, although Mrs. White mentioned it briefly in Letter 16, June 11, 1893. She said it was instigated by a brother Cass who began "repudiating the truth and position of Seventh-day Adventists, and Mrs. White in particular." It seems the rebellion was eventually quashed, because the Norwich SDA Church is today under control of the SDA Corporation. Nevertheless, Cass produced a well-written tract that potently highlights some of the concerns with Ellen White and her role within the SDA Church: Norwich TractBrother Anderson, moderator, www.nonegw.org
