Gilbert Cranmer joined the Christian Connexion in 1833, and began preaching. He later joined the Millerite Movement and expected Jesus to return on October 22, 1844. Later, he adopted the Sabbath and made associations with Joseph Bates and the Whites. After attempting to work with the Whites for several years, he came to the conclusion that Ellen White's visions were false. He left the SDA Church and founded the forerunner of the Church of God (seventh day) in 1860. He raised up a number of Sabbath-keeping churches in Michigan, and continued to minister for the remainder of his life. Gilbert Cranmer LetterBrother Anderson, moderator, www.nonegw.org
