From the day it was first published, Ellen White's Great Controversy has been a controversial book. Ellen White claimed the book was the product of visions but there is scant evidence of that. The book was largely put together from plagiarizing the works of both SDA and non-SDA authors. In addition to a large number of historical inaccuracies, it contains Ellen White conspiratorial view of end time events, including the National Sunday Law. While it's an interesting revision of history and an entertaining read, modern SDAs cringe at its interpretations of end-time events. While SDA scholars have called it into question, the book is still being published and distributed as "light from heaven" and "the truth for the last days." Is this book really the truth? Or is it a mish-mash of partially accurate historical events and self-serving interpretations of Bible prophecy that was been spun into a marketing ploy for the SDA sect?
